My documents open with Wordpad or Works. How can I change which word processor is used?

For XP and earlier versions of Windows:

Open Windows Explorer. 
Click Tools >> Folder Options
Click the File Types tab
Scroll down and find RTF
Then change the program to MS Word, Open Office or your desired word processor

For Vista:

Click Start >> Control Panel
Click Classic View
Click Default Programs
Click "Associate a file type or protocol with a program"
Scroll down and find RTF
Then change the program to MS Word, Open Office or your desired word processor
